Rafael is SAF+’s representative for Spain. He has over 30 years of experience as a legal advisor in cross-border transactions and as a consultant in international market entry, and has extensive knowledge of the global business environment and how it operates. He has been a partner in law firms in Spain and chief legal counsel in a Spanish water infrastructure and consulting company. He has spoken at conferences, visited and worked in more than 50 countries on all five continents. He has been involved in several acquisitions, due diligence and restructurings of Spanish subsidiaries of U.S. and U.K. multinationals, market research and planning for the establishment of a Spanish telecommunications company in four countries in Latin America, the acquisition of solar plants in Spain, and the establishment of wind farm projects in India. He has worked with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, managing and coordinating business teams and international legal advisors.

Rafael has extensive experience in the internationalization of companies, having advised companies in a range of sectors on their entry into Latin America, Europe and India, and managed the consultancy for the implementation of strategies for the establishment of their businesses. Since 2021, Rafael has been coordinating the establishment of SAF+ in Spain. He holds a Law Degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, has held various positions as an officer in a number of international legal organizations, and is currently the Executive Director of The Law Firm Network, a private association of international law firms with members in more than 50 countries around the world.
