Pierre Gonthier

CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER

Pierre has served as general counsel for SAF+ since its incorporation in January 2019, joining the management team in 2021. Pierre was called to the bar in 1989 and has practiced in the Government, with a large accounting firm, and in private practice.
His experience covers 30 years in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations, tax and estate planning, tax litigation and international taxation. A law graduate of McGill University and holder of a master’s degree in taxation and an MBA in international business from HEC Montréal, Pierre is also a member of the board of governors of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law and an accredited NGO observer to the United Nations dedicated to promoting legal education and legal research on corporate sustainability and ecosystem protection.
